Jun 25, 2012 12:55PM, Published by Sabrina Swanger, Categories: Community

Stillwater area seniors will soon have another choice in retirement living. Primrose Retirement Communities is expanding into the Stillwater market with an 80-unit independent and assisted living community. Construction is scheduled to begin this month on the multi-million dollar project that is expected to be open in the summer of 2013.

The Primrose Retirement Community will be nestled on 8.4 acres at 1121 S. Range Road. The community will consist of 36 independent living and 40 assisted living apartment homes in the main two-story building and 4 independent living townhome villas. The apartments will be available in one and two-bedroom floor plans on a month to month basis with no buy in fee. Residents will enjoy an array of public areas including a
wellness center, pub, billiards room, chapel, library, movie theater, and bistro.

Primrose is a provider of high-quality independent and assisted living communities across the country. Based out of Aberdeen, S.D., Primrose specializes in mid-sized communities that help create a family and homelike atmosphere. It opened its first community in 1991, and currently has operations in 14 states. This is the second community in Oklahoma.

The company expects to employ approximately 30 people. The community will be built
by Atlas Construction based in Bixby, OK and is being financed by Stillwater National
Bank.
